Hi, I am Lucy and The Lens, A Preston based professional and published photographer. I also offer bookings in Manchester, Liverpool and Chester. I specialise in Headshots, Personal Branding and Portrait Photography. I am looking for work with models, actors, families and fashion brands. My journey into photography started at a very young age from the moment I picked up a disposable camera at the age of 8 my passion ignited. I am mostly a self-taught photographer. The majority of my photographic work was taken on a compact camera until, I was gifted a DSLR camera for Christmas in 2014 which enabled me to take higher quality photos thus fuelling my enthusiasm for photography. Shortly after that at the start of 2015 I did a ten-week intro to photography course to develop my skills. In October 2019 I set up on my own and In May 2021 I was ready to take the next step and move across to working with a Mirrorless Camera.
I offer both studio and outdoor shoots. My most recent commission was some Single Covers for an EP and I shoot a wide variety of portraits and events, the most out of the box being a pheasant shoot. My main interests are in Headshot and Portrait photography but I am always open to new and exciting ideas as sometimes photography is about breaking out of your comfort zone.
Since joining Preston photographic society in 2015 I have worked with a variety of models, including solo shoots and workshops. I also enter monthly competitions and participate in photo walks. In the 2016/17 season I finished third overall in the novice category only one point behind the winner. In the February 2021 Competition I received a Second place in one of the competitions. for my photo Brandi which you can see below:
I also graduated from a master’s in photography From UCLAN in December 2019. (The University of Central Lancashire). My First Publication was in The Christmas Issue of Through The Lens Magazine with a photo of Anna titled Ice Queen. Here it is Below:
For me pictures evoke memories which enable you to look into the past. They capture the essence of a person or create a sense of mystery around them. If you book with me, I will endeavour to capture the essence you convey through your emotions.
